Did you know...

…Polly Smith made the sculpture in the Sunday School Room.

…The Adult Sunday School Forum has resumed at 9:00 AM each week.

… There are still poinsettia’s in the church if you purchased one please take it home.

 

... The mittens, hats and scarves were delivered to Lutheran Social Services to the needy families.

 

Souper Bowl of Caring

 

Messiah will be participating in the

"Souper Bowl of Caring"

Sunday February 5 and 12.  Please bring a can of soup to donate to the local food bank.  A free will offering will also be taken to support World Hunger.  Please support this very important campaign to help people in need.

 

STOP THE PRESSES!!

While it may be fun to think of ourselves running through the newsroom shouting “Stop the presses!” because of some breaking news, in reality it is generally not helpful to delay the publication of the monthly newsletter. So, going forward, please try to have all information into the church office by the 15th of each month. We are really striving to have the newsletter printed and distributed and into our readers’ hands by the first of each month. Please help us keep you informed.

 

Outreach Committee

The outreach committee will be hosting a pancake supper on Mardi Gras, February 21st, at  6:00 PM.  There will be entertainment and good food. Please join us and bring a friend.

 

Outreach will also be hosting soup suppers on Wednesdays in Lent. Please join us on February 29th at 6:00 for our first soup supper.

 

The recognition of your Baptism will be

February 4th, please be present.

SAVE THE DATE!

Sunday, March 18, 2012 has been set as the date for Pr. Kelly’s installation! The installation will occur within the context of an afternoon service of Holy Communion with a reception following. The exact time is yet to be determined, although it will in all likelihood begin sometime between 3:00 and 4;00 pm. We will have several guests assisting with service: Pr. Bruce Ewen, Assistant to Bishop Roy Riley will be the installing officer; Pr. Glenn Schoenberger, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stone Harbor will be our liturgist; and we will have a guest preacher of Pr. Kelly’s choosing. Please save the date and think about inviting your friends from the community. Look for more information.
