Sunday School time beginning in October, so members of the adult class will teach their class.  Rally Sunday is 9/12.

Mutual Ministry has nearly completed plans for the 9/18 congregational picnic.  Mary Jo has developed a job description for church secretary which the committee will use in hiring her replacement.

Outreach reports that National Night Out went very well.  Denise LaBov has put together the relaxation/spa basket for the no bid auction during the Family Promise cruise fundraiser.  Pastor will deliver it.

Property is focusing on the indentation/puddle on the front lawn and replacing dead bushes.

Stewardship and Finance began reviewing our insurance and added some needed coverage.  They are requesting a fire proof filing cabinet for the church office to keep important papers together and safe.  They've developed a talent sheet to be distributed with pledge cards.  The next community forum in 9/24 - Christian Funeral s and Burial by Pr. Fege.  Finance needs all committee requests for funds for 2011 by 8/23.

Worship and Music doesn’t meet until next week.

Old Business:  The application for tax exempt status and all supporting documents have been given to Dennis Township.  They've told us to assume we're exempt as of 1/1/11 unless we hear from them.  Attorney Jim Pickering says we cannot, by law, be exempt for 2010.  We've gotten a tax bill, for the land only, for the rest of 2010.  We'll just pay it.

LT OK'd Kindermusik's using our facility.  We'll require a letter of insurance coverage, $50 a week, and that they do their own clean up.  Mutual Ministry will work up guidelines for organizations/persons wishing to use our space.

The columbarium committee will meet soon.

New Business:  Pastor will begin drawing his pension 10/1/10.  The congregation will pay only his housing allowance, medical and pension, and other non salary expenses, saving a significant amount of money.  The LT thanked Pr. Fege for doing this.

We will not renew our membership at Sam's Club.

Next meeting will be 9/14 at 7pm.

GRAVE MATTERS

Our third stewardship community forum will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25 10:30am to 12 noon. The presenter and speaker will be Pastor Fege. The program will be on "Christen Funerals and Columbarium's.
